     Wedge-shaped Hollow Paddle Drier

     Relying on the reformed technology from America, Sanmenxia Best Drying & Engineering Company design and manufacture Hollow Paddle Drier. It is applicable to indirect heating or cooling the paste, granule, and powder or slurry material. It is a combination unit operation of drying, cooling, heating, sterilizing, reacting or low temperature calcining. This special wedge type processor uses agitator form to develop its higher rates of heat transfer. The wedge-shaped agitator blades are self-cleaning.

     The unique hollow, wedge-shaped blades are mounted on a hollow shaft with heat transfer medium flowing through them. This provides a very high ratio of heat transfer surface area to process volume. Heat transfer mediums ranging in temperature from -400C to 3200C can be used. They may be either of the condensing vapor type, such as steam, or of the liquid type, such as thermal oil.

    

 

 

 

     Equipment Features

     1. Low Energy Consumption: As the heat flow is indirect, there

 is no large volume of sweep gas flow through the unit, which is

 carrying heat away from the dryer. For a slurry, heat requireme

 -nts may be as low as 1.2kg of steam/kg of water evaporated with a

 well insulated unit.

     2. Low Capital Cost: As the unit has high heat transfer surface

 -to process volume ratios, this shortens the processing time, in most cases

 considerably. The equipment size becomes smaller, thus less building

 volume is needed for the dryer.  

     3. A Wide Variety of Process Problems can be handled by using

any one of a number of heat transfer mediums allowing the unit to be used for certain heat-sensitive materials. The normal heat transfer mediums used are steam, heat transfer oil, hot water, as well as cooling water etc. The dryer can be used for continuous or batch processing. It has been widely used in many kinds of Industries.

     4. Low environmental pollution: Since most applications call for the use of non-carrier gas flow, the vapor stream volume is very low and thus presents a much smaller cleaning problem. Besides its cleanliness, the dryer is often used to convert Industrial waste to profitable by-products.

     5. Low operation expense: Normal operation of that equipments, only one hour/ day · person. With low speed agitation and reasonable construction, the equipment wears and tears so little, and maintenance expenses are very low.  

     6. Stable operation: Because of the special compression and inflation of agitation function of paddle drier, the material grains touch the heat-transfer area thoroughly. Within the axis directions, the temperature, moisture, mixture and grads of the material is very small so as to guarantee the stability of the process.

     Applications

     The paddle drier has been already successfully used in the food, chemical, petrochemical, dyestuff and environmental segments etc.The Characteristics of heat-transfer , cooling, agitation make it possible to complete the following unit operations :calcining(low temperature),cooling,Drying (solvent recovery),Heating(melting),reacting,sterilizing. The bladed agitator used in the processor is utilized as heating surface. This increases the heat transfer surface to process volume ratio drastically. The processing time, in most cases, is therefore dramatically reduced.The heat-transfer surface of the wedge paddle also has the self cleaning functions.Mixing of process mass locally around the heat transfer surface keeps the "semi-plug" mass flow such that the temperature and moisture gradients in a specific zone are minimal.(Ca2SO4·2H2O)(Ca2SO4·1/2H2O)。(NaHCO3)(Na2CO3)。 Low temperature calcinations have been accomplished using the paddle dryer. With oil as the heat transfer medium, gypsum (Ca2so4.2H2O) can be converted to the hemi-hydrate (Ca2so4.1/2H2O).Sodium bicarbonate (NaHCO3) can be converted to pure alkali (Na2CO3). Since the agitation system can be designed for use with coolants, including refrigerated brines, it can be used for cooling. For example, a food product is cooled using propylene glycol as the coolant after a grinding step. This system replaced a gas swept grinding step conserving energy. Drying, one of the most important applications can be carried out without the use of carrier (sweep) gas in the paddle dryer. Solvent recovery can be carried out in a less hazardous environment. Since the vapors are concentrated, the chance of pollution is minimized because excessive non-condensable carrier gas is almost non-existent. This has been widely used in fine chemical, petrochemical, dyestuff, etc. Because of the small difference in temperature between individual particles in specific zone of the dryer, the units find many applications in heating or melting. This has been successfully used in compound fertilizer and starch Industries.Cereals and flours have been sterilized using the paddle dryer. The high heat transfer surface to volume ratio accounts for fast heating to sterilization temperature. This prevents degradation, which is often associated with time-temperature relationships.

    Environment Protection Industry:Electroplating sludge, boiler soot, waste residue from pharmaceutical factory, waste residue from sugar refinery, waste residue from gourmet powder factory, coal ash.

    Forage Industry:Soy residue, bone forage, stillage, food remnant, apple residue, orange peel, bean dregs, chicken bones forage, fish mean, feed additives, biological residue
